“My poems are rooted in place, the ebb and flow of my North Yorkshire coastal hometown against hard edge of North Sea never fails to inspire rhythm in my writing; a constantly changing landscape of exquisitely visceral natural beauty, always surprisingly.

I write to cut into the ecology of landscape and locations of belonging to create the multi-faceted, as though precious stones. My poems are often abstract, fragmented, of sibylline structure, riddles to piece together as wished, of perpetual motion and forays into an extraordinary ordinary.” Julie Hogg.

Julie Hogg is a poet from the North Yorkshire Coast. Her poems have appeared in many literary journals including Abridged, Butcher's Dog, Honest Ulsterman, Magma, New Boots and Pantisocracies, Poetry Birmingham, Poetry Bus, Popshot and StepAway Magazine. Featured in anthologies by Dunlin Press, Litmus and Seren, her debut pamphlet is 'Majuba Road'.
