New writing by Samuel Reid. 24 pages.
“The poem is a response to the ongoing horrors in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan. To the language of vindication. To the equivocation over mass murder. To the violence of double standards and the attempt to turn away from horror.
Day to day, I work with people who’ve lost everything through war. Families from Syria, Sudan, Ukraine, and Afghanistan. The energy it takes to start again, to turn from loss and make a future, is unimaginable. You always hear the same thing. We never thought this could happen. This could as well be you as me.” Samuel Reid
